we went into this under the belief that it would help us out and reduce the stress we were under, after today i feel like im banging my head against a brick wall. Do I have to stay with the company im with? I bring home £1600month as long a i can get overtime. My basic would be £1260. My wife isnt working, we have 1 child and 1 on the way. I was told that the £40 we spend per week on fuel was too much for a family of 3 and the £60 week we spend on food and things like nappies and household goods was also to much.I cant see how i can spend less on these things. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi,

I presume you are in an IVA? In that case, you will be unable to change companies.

I think you need to speak to your company and ask to submit a new I&E for them.

Who are you with?

For two adults and two children, your weekly food budget (according to CCCS) ought to be between £67 and £108 per week - so I am not sure what world your firm live in by telling you that £60 per week is too much. Which firm are you with?

As for petrol - do they know how far you travel to and from work each day and what you also need to use for domestic and social mileage? If not, how can they judge whether your actual spending is excessive?
