over the past few months ive took one or two dents in the household income
i.e
tax credits down £160 pm
child benefit down £43 pm
my own income down £52 pm
to cut a long story short we have moved heaven and earth to maintain our iva payments at the rate that was agreed at the creditors meeting
to assist in doing this my wife took on some extra hours at work this ammounted to £255. pm
now payplan in there wisdom have this morning sent me a letter saying that they want £230 pounds off myself within 14 days (this followed the 3 monthly payslip review )
each deduction in income was notified to payplan as it happened but we never got offered a drop in payments that why my wife took the extra hours on .
what should i do
we dont have that kind of money lying around
im at a loss tbh

Get back in touch with them ASAP and argue the case. When they review payslips do they also review other income and expenditure?

You need to speak to your case worker at Payplan and explain things to them.
You need to make sure that they are aware of the drop in income - and that you cannot make this payment as your wife has worked the extra hours to to maintain the current payments.
It may be a lack of communication between departments.

Try to get them to acknowledge the reduction in your income and go from there. Bit harsh of them to ask for money when you havent got as much coming in as before.

You do need to make sure they know about the reduction in tax credits etc.
Have you checked on Justabank to see exactly what they say about your account?

If you have no joy on Monday, try emailing the IP direct via this link:
http://www.insolvency-service.co.uk/newipsearch.htm
I'll be interested to hear how you get on as we've just sent our payslips off to them.

by back on track
i phoned them yesterday to see why they requested mt last 3 months payslips when i sent them last week.
she said they are behind with workload and not to worry about letter.
ive just had a few reductions too so have done another i@e sheet to reflect this.
they cant have what you dont have so try not too worry about it too much the idea of an iva is to pay back what you can afford

IPs are not here to take money off people who cannot afford to pay it, but we do have to supervise the IVAs under our control in line with the provisions contained within the proposal documents.
If you have earned more money and there is an uplift provision, technically this will be required to be paid over for the benefit of creditors, but if you have had additional unforseen expenditure, it may be possible to set this off against any uplift, subject to your 50% share being used up first.

I'm just waiting to see what they say to us as we've just sent ours off.
The only extra we have is a rise hubby has just had from his pension.
I've told them that the rise in food shopping and petrol takes care of that.
If they try to say different, someone could end up having their head ripped off!

things like this worry me, yes the IP is supposed to be supportive during the IVA process, but i keep reading about people who have had a reduction in income and the IPs haven't been very supportive in reducing the payments but when you get an increase in income they are quick to want to take some.
i just think there should be more of a balance. i hope i don't have to go through this.
HOPE THINGS GET SORTED QUICKLY FUZZY DUNLOP.

Hi Fuzzy D, I too hope this gets sorted soon. I do feel somtimes the balance seems to be a bit skewed in favour of creditors at he cost of us the clients?
Good luck again

Its sort of meant to favour the creditors is it not??
