I attended an initial interview with the Insolvency service after the petition was dealt with in the county court.
I was aksed how much money I had on me and I said about £1020. He took 50% was he within his rights to do so?
Thank you

Hi,
Are you referring to bankruptcy?
I'm afraid I can't help with this, but we do have one or two posters on here who are bankrupt and they may be able to help you, or one of the professionals may be along as well.
You could also ask this question on the sister site:

Thinking about it - you would have paid £510 across from the money you had - this would have been the court fees that you needed to pay.

I am assuming that the meeting you are referring to was held after the date of your Court hearing? Was it you who petitioned or one of your creditors?
If my assumption is correct, I am suprised he took only 50% from you and not the whole lot!
