Sorry to shout but at last!!!
My IVA was finally approved today after three adjournments, a lot of hard work by my IP team and a lot of worry and stressing by me. I can’t believe it has finally happened and I have been given another chance. I feel so relieved.
A huge thank you to Anna and David at Cleardebt, they have been fantastic. I know David is a busy man but he has had time to act personally on my behalf, to the extent that we have been exchanging emails at 5.30am !! This just goes to show how important it is to get an IP you feel comfortable with, one you can Trust and one who will pull out all the stops for you.
My proposal was already complex but the change in my personal circumstances part way through the application (partial loss of eye sight) made it even more complicated and this was largely the reason for the adjournments. Northern Rock (my biggest creditor) wanted revised figures and this was wasn’t easy as some of the changes to my lifestyle would be difficult to forecast. However, after a real rollercoaster ride we got there in the end. I really hope this gives some hope to others who are just starting to face up to their debts and turnaround their live.
This forum is amazing, it has helped me so much, it provides so much invaluable information. It supported me when I told my wife about my debts, that was the toughest thing I have ever done. It listened when I had my eye sight problems diagnosed and has kept me upbeat during the last week.
Oh, nearly forgot, thanks also to Ali and Mike (also at Cleardebt) who were great when I made the first steps of calling someone to try and sort my mess out.
It has been a complex process and I will blog the full details of what has happened over the last week when I get chance and have seen the chairman’s report, but in summary:-
Barclays – Yes
Barclaycard – Yes
Egg – Yes
Amex – No (wanted an additional payment of over £100 per month!!)
MBNA – Did not vote
Northern Rock – Yes (Eventually!!)
I’m definitely going to stick around so you had better get used to me. We are having friends round for a Eurovision party on Saturday to celebrate and then its down to the budgeting.
