Hi, I am sure the experts will be along to tell you officially, but no it isn't good advice. An IVA is a legally binding agreement and unless it fails, and on his IP's advice he should not stop paying. The IVA Watchdog has been discussed on here a lot and it is not in a favorable light.
Any variations to your son's IVA need to come form his own IP and I would suggest he contact them regarding this.

Who is the IVA Watchdog - they seem to crop up frequently

Please get him to get some advice urgently. There a some companies who trawl the insolvency register for mass mailings with the intention of causing fear and alarm and they then suggest alternatives for which they get paid. An IVA is a legal agreement filed in court. Has your son spoke to his original IP?

Hi
This is really bad advice and I think David Mond will be looking into these clowns.
Does your son have a letter stating this from the company or is it a verbal suggestion.
The only solution that the IVA Council, sorry the IVA watchdog can offer is bankruptcy at a premium cost, something that your son could do himself quite easily.
Regards

It is hardly likely to be good advice, but what does your son actually feel about his IVA? Is he happy with the arrangement, or does he wish he had gone bankrupt in the first place? If the latter, then it is still better for him to discuss this with his IP, rather than an ambulancing chasing outfit who may only interested in taking his money from him.

Avoid the likes of IVA Watchdog like the plague. They are no more than like the old IVA Council. Visit my firms web page and review what happened to the IVA Council there.
Best advice is to have a chat with your own Supervisor (IP) and discuss any uncertainties with him/her.

Totally agree.
They just write to everyone on the Insolvency Register who is in an IVA.
If he did feel that he needed to go bankrupt, he would be able to it himself for just the court costs.
Consign the letter from IVA Watchdog to the shredder.

As mentioned, please get your son to talk to his IP immediately. He needs to tell them everything that has happened, and also i would suggest he stops the payment to the IVA watchdog.

He needs to speak directly to his IP to tell them of the problems. The IP can be found via this link:
http://www.insolvency-service.co.uk/newipsearch.htm
There is someone from Synergie who posts on here, so hopefully he will come on and help out.
I would strongly advise that he cancels the payment to the IVA Watchdog, he is just throwing good money after bad and all they will do is 'assist' him to go bankrupt. This is going to cost him a lot of money which he can ill afford.
He can easily set up a new DD to Synergie whilst he gets things sorted out.

your son is wasting his money messing around with these clowns! if he can't afford the IVA than maybe he should go bankrupt however he should talk to his IP first if only to put them in the picture.
Please don't let him waste his money on these chancers!

He is probably speaking to one of the office staff. He should be able to find his IP via the link I posted. Get him to email tonight so that the IP will see it tomorrow and hopefully contact him.
In the meantime - cancel that payment asap!
Anytime you or he need assistance or advice, we are here.
