You receive payrise, payments to IVA go up. Your salary is then cut by £4000.00. You ask to lower payments, it is agreed but then your told that the difference between what you were paying and what you are now paying will be classed as arrears. Is this correct?

I was under the impression that your payments could be lowered back to the original payment without any problems. Hopefully Melanie or David will be able to confirm shortly.

I would not class that as arrears - only if your reduced payments were lower than the contractual amount you agreed to pay at the outset of the IVA.
