Hi There C777 and welcome,
I've got an IVA an am sure it didn't go in the local paper. BR is or should I say was a different matter, that was published, but I think that has now changed. One of the experts will confirm the position soon when they come along.

Oh no it doesn't, but it does appear in the Edinburgh Gazette;
'The Edinburgh Gazette is an official newspaper of record for the United Kingdom, published by H. M. Stationery Office It contains legal and government notices, including notices of military honors and awards.'
So really no-one will see it - unless you are into reading about such things

Just to make it clear that there are no such things as IVAs in Scotland only Trust Deeds. They have similarities but they are actually very different.

Thats the one. I was more embarassed about it being in the paper because it listed all 3 of my middle names and the 3rd one is very unusual. Small price to pay for sorting ourselves out though.

Bit confused here, initially C777 "i am thinking of appling for a iva but am worried it will be posted in the local paper as there is always notices of people whon have gone bankrupt in there" I posted that it's not in the local paper, I should have mentioned up here it's Scottish Trust Deeds not IVA's.. but see that plasticdraft (below) says he saw it in 'the paper' just interested in where did you see a copy of the Edinburgh Gazette?
plasticdraft; "I had my name in the paper,took me 2 days to find it online and its not one of my proudest moments!!!(I have a trust deed)" + "Thats the one. Hi Kallis3: "Plasticdaft is from Scotland as well Bigpete, he's in a trust deed"..
I know that, see my posting above where plasticdraft says: "(I have a trust deed)" ..
just wondered where he/she saw it, I've been in a Trust Deed for over two years and apart from diligent searching on the web, I have not seen my name in a paper - my original posting was to assure c777 that in Scotland (Trust Deed land) it is not posted in the local paper, and incidentally it's (IVA that is) not posted in a local paper in England either.. So plasticdraft's comment (re TD) "I had my name in the paper" was a bit strange - hope that's cleared up
