Hi,

Can anyone give me a bit of advice on default notices?
I last paid my creditors on the 2nd of June.
I was served a default notice on the 22nd of July after missing one payment with (EGG) and a default notice was placed on my credit file on August 18.
I was under the impression that a default can only be issued after missing three payments?

Do I have the right to challenge this default notice?

Are you in an IVA now?

Hi
I think that they can default you as they seem fit,as long as they have actually served you with the default notice, giving you time to pay the arrears.
It will stay on your file for six years, the same time as an IVA

Thanks. No I am not in an IVA.
I have put my IVA on hold at the moment.

Yes - Andy is correct here. A default notice can be filed at any time, but it is more usual for the creditors to wait three months before doing so.
