Last year i was accused of having a debt, i new nothing of until i received papers saying it was assigned to a debt company. i disputed the debt and asked for a data request from the company after they appologised. How do i find the orgaisation who provided the trace to my address because the information they hold is linked in some way to me. the company refused me the information, but only provided me an appology once i informed the information commissioners office they were in breach of the sixth data protection principle. what can i do can anyone help.

Hi Andrew ... welcome to the Forum.

This must have been a very stressful experience for you and I am glad that you managed to get it sorted out.

Have you thought of checking your credit files that Experian or Equifax hold on you ... might be worth a try.

All the best

Debbie
