Hi Joannadav so sorry to hear of your bad fortune with regards to the flooding of your home, I would keep your IP in the loop but as it stands you will be replacing new for old because of this misfortune, good luck and best wishes.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

Does the insurance company know of your IVA?. Be careful on that front as its in their terms and conditions for an increasing number of insurance policies.

Just inform your IP of what's happened and your payout will replace your losses so all should be fine. Don't mention the IVA at all at this stage just be aware when renewing. Don't worry x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Always best to keep your IP informed of all major developments - a quick e-mail advising them of recent events should be sufficient.

If you answered his questions honestly and informed Kwik fit when the policy was taken out then I wouldn't worry.

This is an area that has been discussed before on this forum - whether to inform insurance companies of our IVA's. it's like other things in life that its ok until a large claim is submitted then loss adjusters look into things with great detail.

My home policy stipulates that if any information is withheld then it can nullify the claim. A " material omission".

That was why I made the earlier post about being careful. Have you spoken with your I.P about this yet?. By informing them early on that will at least show that you have sought advice. Try not to worry I'm sure things will be fine and keep us posted.

Your insolvency should not invalidate your insurance claim joannadav, so long as you correctly disclosed the IVA if you were asked to.

I too believe you answered honestly so here's hoping you receive some news about your claim very soon and are able to get yourself sorted. x

Had an email back off ip stating to check my policy booklet but she did also state that If there was a problem then I can ask for a payment holiday or I could also phone them up and tell them about the iva but like I replied I already informed kwickfit so will wait and see :/
