Hi
I'm first time poster. I need advice. I entered into an IVA in 2000 and following a remortgage in 2003 a full and final settlement was agreed in 2003.

I moved to Scotland in 2004 andhave hadno concerns since then until last month when I received, out of the blue a letter from a Fairfax Solicitors demanding nearly £6000 for a client Max Recovery.

I wrote back requesting details and they replied the debt was purchased during the period of insolvency and they will continue action recovery.

Ido not have any paperwork for the settled IVA. How can I prove that I do not owe this money.

Hi Muzza and welcome to the forum.

If you do not have your certificate of completion, could you ask your IP for a copy of certain documents to prove the debt was included within the IVA. x

Hi Lesley thanks for replying. I looked for the IP on the internet and they are not based in the town anymore. They were part of the Baker Tilly Group but in each area they seem to be independent of each other and only use the Baker Tilly name as an umbrella.

wonder if this link would help if you can remember your IP's name?

I don't think it's working at the minute by the looks of it though so not much use but might be worth bookmarking for future use.

One of the IP's who post on the forum may be able to help too so if you hang around I would think there will be someone about soon to assist.

Hi Lesley
I remembered IP's name and although he works for another company I've sent him an email hoping he can point me in the right direction. Thanks for your help.
