Hey

How long does it take after the creditors' meeting to appear on the Insolvency Register?

Thanks

If your IP is on the ball, about four days, sometimes up to two weeks.

As an illustration, I had to help an old friend of mine to declare bankruptcy a little while ago, no other option I'm afraid. The very next day, the Insolvency Register had been updated to include her and all the relevant details of the matter.

Hi Popcorn

Mine was on within a few days, which was helpful as any stray creditors who kept calling could check while I was on the phone and verify.
I have only looked once and will never look again until I have completed my iva as I found it a bit upsetting to be honest. Having said that the benefits of having the protection of an iva far outweighs seeing your name on a register which I can't believe anyone would just browse through for fun!!

My entry was exactly a week later, I looked for it daily and got really down when I saw it so vowed the next time I looked would be to check it had been removed at the end of the 60 months.

Mine was certainly less than a week. But as you say Lesley I certainly won't be checking on it too often!!

Be careful though kallis and only look when you are feeling strong as it can be a horrible moment seeing your name there[:)]

Yes, I imagine it will be. It was bad enough seeing the name of the court and my court number. I am just thankful that it doesn't get put into the local paper. At least none of my friends and relatives will be able to see it.

It is a funny feeling when you see your name/s on the register. It's like the point of no return and although you're expecting it it's still a shock to the system.
It was around 1 week after br that I had the nerve to look and we were on it, but not under the court we had filed in, it was a bit of a hunt to find us!
