I was just wondering whether you chose to send a letter to your creditors before they contacted you or whether yoyu waited for them to chase you for payment? We are in the beginning stages of attempting to get an IVA and weve recieved the template letters to send from melanies team but unsure whther to send them or not? At the moment we are not being chased by anyone but as of the 1st we def will be!!

You ought to send the letters straight away, as we will also have written to your creditors as soon as we received your details.

The best thing to do is send these letters out now and prempt potential creditor contact.

Hi,
At the very start of the IVA process I wrote letters to all my creditors. I then sent off another batch of letters once my IVA was agreed. Cahoot even sent me a “thank you and good luck” letter! [:0]
I feel if you are pro-active in keeping your creditors “in the picture” you cut down the amount of hassle you would otherwise receive.[8D]

Hi,
We sent the template letters from Melanie. Most creditors deny any knowledge of receiving them from us or Melanie but that is just the people who phone you who are not in the know. A couple of creditors did acknowledge them with a polite letter in return. If Melanie is you IP then I would have thought it best if you follow her instructions.

I wrote to my creditors as soon as I knew I was going to apply for an IVA and wrote monthly thereafter to keep them up to date, I also sent copies to my IP for my file. I had to wait for a remortgage to free up some disposable income so I think I wrote twice before acceptance. I didn't write to inform them of acceptance, didn't stop the phone calls totally but I do believe it helped a little.

I sent the letters Melanie supplied as soon as I recieved them but a lot of my creditors denied every recieving them, and even denied recieing the ones sent by Melanie!!
Some acknowledged my letter with a letter which was good as knew that they had recieved and read the letter.
Best wishes

i wrote to my creditors, had a reply from mint saying good luck and have not heard a peep since (nearly 4 months now) still get hastle from others but they would have hastled anyway, nearly all letters sent are generic computer generated ones, and its there paper and postage their wasting. Mint obviously have the right idea, save ££ on postage and wait. [8D]
