I am more than alittle scared about stopping to the payments to creditors. I feel really guilty. So far we have managed by 'juggling' payments around so that all creditors are paid- even if it is with another creditors money[:I]. We realise we cannot manage like this for much longer. Can anyone shed any light/offer any advice on what exactly we can expect. Although I feel we already know the answer!![:(]

Basically you are robbing peter to pay paul & it will just make matters far worse, i would suggest getting professional advice on what options are available to you.

Don't worry about it Marie - it makes little difference to the outcome whether you pay the creditors token or pro-rata payments or not. Once you have decided that a formal insolvency solution is the right way forward for you, follow the advice of the professional you have chosen to represent you, and get rid of feelings of guilt to be replaced by feelings of pride that you are taking positive steps to address your financial difficulties.

We have taken the step and spoken to somebody. They have suggested not paying anyone from now until everything is (hopefully) in place. So scared.

Don't be - they are not going to do anything horrid to you if they know you are working on a solution, and at the end of the day you cannot afford to pay them or else you would not be here!

What you are feeling is perfectly normal, we can all vouch for that! Don't put it off any longer Marie, you've alredy taken big steps by posting on here and you recognise you're living on borrowed money. None of us have done it on purpose, it just catches up with you eventually and you have to act sooner than later.
Everyone on here will be behind you, take your time and choose the right professional for yourself.

Marie, to be fair to all your creditors you have to stop paying them. Once things are sorted payments will be made to them so try not to feel so bad.
It's always a confusing and conflicting time when you first start to sort out your debts but rememeber that you are sorting them and that's the main thing.
Keep smiling hun,
xx

Marie, I've been through all those emotions:- fear, embarrassment, guilt and then sheer relief when we addressed our problems! We haven't had our creditors meeting yet and I still feel guilty when creditors call, but hopefully (fingers crossed) everything should be sorted soon.. keep your chin up!! Your feelings are completely natural

hi marie - try not to worry (not easy i know) but you are taking positive steps to sort your problems out - we felt exactly the same, but came to a point where we could not carry on robbing one to pay another
we have just sent our proposal back and so are waiting for our creditors meeting - it is a worrying time - but stay positive because things will be sorted
good luck
love barb x

Marie - Well done for taking the first steps to a debt free future. You should feel proud that you are sorting it out, and not burying your head in the sand x

Hi Moneystinks
We all have that feeling after spending months, even years juggling money about. At the end of the day if you made full payments you would be getting further and further into debt.
