we have an iva running and have taken advice from another company to stop paying for 3 months to try and get out of the iva and hopefully then the company who have taken it on witll make a dealk witht he creditors for a debt management plan - e have done this as they have put up our payments to 1200 a month from 468 due to my husband just going back to work after a spinal injury which is why we had to take the iva out in the first place. we do not want to go bankrupt but are aware that the company can force us into this if we @have 3 strikes and we are out@ but just cannot aford to pay this money every month which is all of my husbands wages?? the iva company do not answer letters or calls just sent rather unpleasant letters - we are desperately hoping that the other company, who are nice, can get the creditors to go for the debt management plan.

Seems like you are getting very rough treatment from your IP, but I cannot see the benefit of switching from an accepted IVA to a DMP - which creditors are unlikely to accept on the basis of a defaulted IVA. Which company has offered to assist you in this mannger, and have you tried talking directly to your own IP?

Seems a very strange scenario to me. Just to clarify, have the IVA company put your payments to £1200 or is it the other company?

We hear all the time re IVA Council and their like looking to get people out of IVA's into BR but I have not come across the out of IVA into DMP scenario before.
