hi
im in an iva and wish to open an account with halifax as iam starting a new job, i will be paid monthley, they are the only one near my new address, has any one had any problems opening an account with them?

Hi
I think that they are supportive of people in IVAs
Just be sure to be upfront with them and ask for a basic account with no credit facilities.

My husband has a basic account wth halifax and he opened it for the IVA, it came with visa electron debit card and online banking.

Majority of the basic bank accounts on the market do not include a debit card (usually a cash card), Halifax are one of the banks that do offer this as well as online banking with their basic bank account.

I believe Halifax are quite receptive to those individuals proposing an IVA.
