It would seem that our luck has finally upped and moved out. Prior to long awaited wedding my husband to be decided to flat pack his company car (£750 excess @ £50 a month) then when we got back off our honeymoon (which guests paid for) my car has failed its MOT today and can't get the work done until 1st Nov! And very soon I'm going to have to start paying parking as my job is changing. I've tried running after my luck but it's just too fast for me!!!!

We tried contacting GT to discuss our payments prior to the wedding as outgoings more than our budget was set at so having to use hubby's bonus each month & not being able to give the half over to them, they are aware of this but apparently our payments have to remiain the same until March 2008! And to ask for a creditors variation meeting we have to write yet another letter detailing why we are requesting it - was my previous letter to them not clear enough that and we seem to be working our way though the department - different person each time so question is does anyone know what is going on!!!

I'm beginning to feel that the IVA is not wroking for us as everything keeps going against us - how long should one perserve doggedly for?

Flat packing the car goes along the lines of skidding on diesel, over correcting hitting a tree then somehow flipping the car so it ends up on the other side of the road facing the opposite direction than it starting in on its roof and he escaped with a couple of scratches and bruised ribs - i think he just ran into all our luck!

Well at least she (lady luck) got him out alive, eh? Sorry I have never heard that saying before, but its quite obvioux really, now that you mention it.

Poor thing, I bet he thought his number was up? Where there is life there is hope and I hope that your luck gets tired and comes home soon.

If you mean flat packing your car Melanie, it means that you had an accident and it was squashed!

Luck up and going means that you have had nothing but bad luck recently - It can't be your age Melanie I'm older than you but then again I do work with Young People all day!!

Glad to hear that he got out OK at the end of the day a car is just metal and can be replace a life cannot!

With regard to the IVA, you clearly have exceptional stuff going on her, and I am sure that GT will be sympathetic. If you keep being put through to different members of staff, try e-mailing the IP directly, and using a read receipt. This usually does the trick, and you can perhaps ask them who the most appropriate person is for to deal with your queries.

Thanks for that - I will try emailing tomorrow when I'm at work and see what response I get and then resend the letter I sent a couple of weeks ago this time putting in the phrase 'please can we have a variation meeting' and then we shall see...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for luck (nearly wrote luv but I've got that) and we stil have our sense of humour. Almost wet myself laughing at our wedding reciting my vows 'for richer for poorer' and the up side of him crashing the car meant the best man had plenty of material for his speech!!![:D]

Cheers for that Kerri I do find that the only thing that does keep me going is my sense of humour.

Well I have emailed them and surprise surprise the email address I had for my IP has been bounced back but the one for a member of his office has gone through so just waiting for a response...... I was very positive and stated that we wanted a creditors variation meeting due to the changes in circumstance and could let let us know what we needed to do in preparation for it although I have a gut feeling that it is not going to work out and that we will probably have to go bankrupt and we will cross that bridge when we get to it still back to grindstone still smiling and slog away to earn those precious pennies!!!!!!

I am so pleased that your husband is ok, and that is the main thing. I hope your wedding went ok and you were able to have a relaxing honeymoon...
