The date for my husband's creditors meeting has now been set (15th October). He continually receives calls from his creditors.

He has received a call today and this particular creditor has asked how long will it take before they hear anything once the meeting has taken place?

I would have thought from their experience they should be able to answer this themselves as I am sure my husband is not the first customer to be put through an IVA!

The Chairman's Report of the meeting has to be lodged in Court within 4 days of the Date of Approval.

The Insolvency Rules say that the Creditors should be notified immediately after the Court.

In practise, both can be done at the same time and so I would say certainly within a week, the creditors should know.

Tell it like it is.

Hi
The problem lies in the fact that the staff employed to collect money from your debt know next to nothing about IVAs so I really wouldn,t take much notice. The people dealing with the IVA decisions are much further up the chain
