Ive just posted off 12mths wage slips for me & my husband for our yearly review, along with proof of family allowance(as i now get this for 2 children)
This was posted of at the wkend,so i assume they will have received this today.
Any idea how long it will be before i hear some thing form them?
Will it be by letter or by phone if say my contribution needs to be increased?
Just wondering about this because i have increased our clothing allowance form 30 to 40 a mth for a family of four (as i have since had a baby,& hes growing quite quick)& have read some of the posts regarding clothing allowance.
Increased electric from 30 to 40 a mth,as im on maternity leave & am at home all day using more.
Also increased food/cleaning allowance from 300 to 310.
Does this all sound reasonable?
Although im earning less on mat leav my husband is earning more now, which means we stillget the same amount of money each mth.Our budget has changed by 30 a mth according to my calculations, but my car insurance was 30 more a mth last year.
Feeling as nervous as when the creditors meeting took place!dont know why!
Thanks for reading[:)]

Hi Poppy

Why not drop them a line and talk these things through with them to see what they feel about it. All your expenditure requests seem reasonable to me but it's important to discuss these with your IP.

In one respect our expenditure hasnt changed as on our last form my car insurance was £30 more & this is now being used towards electric, food & clothing, all which have increased wiht the new addition.
I did write this all down in a letter to them, which i included with the wage slips etc

I'm sure they will contact you in due course but there is nothing stopping you giving them a ring in a few days if you have heard nothing.

Whenever we did our new I&E forms, our amounts changed, ie one would go up slightly but another would go down so evened out.

It was always ok as our disposable income didn't go down (only stayed the same or increased slightly) so we were still able to maintain our level of monthly contributions.

It always took about a week but no more than 2 before we heard by letter what our contributions were going to be. At our last review, our disposable income went up by £40 but our contributions were kept the same as the previous year. Like you say you have explained the expenditure and given reasons to increases/decreases but as Oliver has said, nothing stopping you giving them a quick ring perhaps beginning of next week if you dont hear beforehand.

You can also look at it from an inflationary point of view I suppose. There are some allowances that you can expect to go up by inflationary amounts each year. If were reviewing your I & E, I would not expect you to be giving me the amounts in the third year that were on your I & E in year one. Your pay is likely to have increased since then and so it is only natural that certain items of expenditure also increase.

I would say that there are also some exceptional circumstances in your case, since you have an additional family member. I assume that your IP knew about this anyway and hopefully he / she has discussed it with you. Once things have settled down and you are in to a routine, you might want to review your I & E yourselves and see how you are doing. If you feel that you are struggling, do try and speak with your IP sooner rather than later.

Tell it like it is.

Hi Poppy

As you are already living a very tight budget, I would have thought your increases would be more than acceptable.
