Just spoken to someone is about to go into an IVA and is also a company director and has been advised to resign his directorship and then be reappointed after the IVA is accepted.

Anyone else heard this?

My lesson for the day!

There is no need to do this legally - but perhaps his co-directors do not want to be associated with someone who has an IVA on record. Who was it that gave this advice?

One of the advantages of an IVA is, it will not affect professions such as the Police Force and Armed Forces, neither will it affect your ability to hold public office or act as a company director.

However as Melanie says perhaps his co-directors do not want to be associated with someone who has an IVA on record.
