I live with my parents and would rather they didn't know the extent of my debt, so i'm worried that if I start an IVA bailiffs may be sent to my home to collect anything of value to help pay off my debts. Could that happen?

Hi Katie and welcome.
None of your property is taken in an iva.You would not have bailiffs come to your home. If you dont mind, post how much you owe and who to and if you own any assets eg property. Also if you can put your income and living costs down before paying the debts, then everyone can help to find a possible solution for you.

Hi Katie
So long as you start the IVA at an early stage of your financial difficulties, the risk of bailiffs turning up at your house is pretty remote.

as you are in an IVA there is no reason for Baliffs to arrive at your house, you might got phone calls from creditors while the iVA is put in place.
