Hi
I cancelled my Direct Debit to MBNA Virgin last week but after checking my Virgin statement online, they were paid £121 yesterday?

I think sometimes simon they put the payment on and then you will see it returned the next day recheck the statement. Their fault anyway if the bank hasnt paid it and you cancellled it. Dont worry so long as you still have your money.

Direct Debits payment files are generally sent to the bank around 3-5 days before the payment is due. rejected files are then sent back to the companies 1-3 days after the payment request has been rejected. I wouldn't worry about it as if you cancelled it then this will be rejected.
