I have 22000 in debt, i am thinking about getting a IVA. But i would like to buy a house in a few years does this affect my credit scoring? Also does it stop me getting a mortgage. Can you get a IVA for you and your partner in joint names?

An IVA will affect your credit scoring but you will be able to get a mortgage,even during your IVA,if you have sufficient deposit from a third party.
There are no joint IVAs but individual ones that are interlocking and both paid with one payment from your joint disposible income.They are supervised jointly by your IP

An IVA will have a negative impact on your credit score although this won't necessarily stop you from being able to take out a mortgage. You will have to seek express permission from your IP, will need a third party to fund the deposit of the mortgage and likely will only be allowed to do this if it doesn't have a detrimental effect on your ability to continue to meet your monthly creditor repayments.

An IVA will remain on your credit rating for six years from the date of its acceptance, but so will default notices from your creditors if you are struggling to service yoru debts. You and your partner could put forward mutually interlocking IVAs, which are based upon your individual circumstances, but rely on one contribution which all of your creditors share on an equal basis.
