my iva is joint/linked with my husband,if our iva was to fail what would be the implications for him & his job as he is in the army.
Could he do a dmp or another iva if it was my part of the iva that failed?

That will depend upon his specific circumstances - rank, trade, access to secure documents/equipment and level of vetting. As you are probably aware, Queens Regulations do require members of the Armed Forces to advise their Commanding Officers if they fall into financial difficulties or enter bankruptcy proceedigns. This is rather drachonian, but in practice rarely enforced - although bankruptcy proceedings are still viewed relatively harshly by the Forces hierarchy.
Look on the brightside - your husband probably has one of the most secure jobs there is at the momebt, and so long as nothing happens to drastically change your circumstances, the payments should be able to be met comfortably as his salary should be fairly stable.
