hello everyone..
Our IVA was complete 3 years ago...it wasnt the 5 year, pay monthy kind, it was a 1 off payment arranged through Grant Thornton. We have been debt free since... we did a remortage at the time to raise the money needed...and to afford the new monthly mortgage payments we took our mortgage back to 30 years. It was at a discounted fixed rate for 3 years. that will finish with no redemptions to pay at the end of october. So we now need to get another mortgage so we can hopefully get a better deal/rate. I have already asked at our bank..(Alliance and Leicester) but they said no due to the IVA we had 3 years ago. Is everyone going to say no...? i dont have a clue where to start looking...? i am scared of making a mistake and getting hooked into some dodgy mortgage company that i know nothing about. Please could someone guide me into the right direction. Our mortgage is about 114000 over 27 years now...we dont want anymore than we owe and would maybe (depending on how much) like to drop a few years off the term to help us get back to where we started. Any help would be amazing and i thank you.
Also...(sorry dont ask much do i) i would dearly love to share our experiance with you all...from start to finish...feelings, worries, how it started and finished...where would i do this...?
