Hubby got a letter today, he has got a CCJ against him, dated 14 September, two weeks AFTER bankruptcy date! I presume there will be one for me shortly to follow!

How does this affect us, given that we were declared bankrupt on 30 August????

I am thinking of our credit file for the future. It also says on the letter, IF YOU IGNORE THIS ORDER, YOUR GOODS MAY BE REMOVED.

Should I be worried?????

Was the company that has applied for the CCJ included in your bankruptcy?

Hi Jane,

I dont think there is anything to be too worried about, your bankruptcy should overwrite any CCJ's been made against you if that creditor has been included in your bankruptcy.

I think in this case, the information about your bankruptcy being approved has not been passed on to the correct department in time.

I made a call to the OR’s office today. They sent notification of our bankruptcy out to our creditors on 11 September and so they said this CCJ has probably been passed as they did not have the bankruptcy info. I have to just send the OR the notice as the debt was included in the bankruptcy!

Phew!!!!!!!

Hi Jane, my bankruptcy date was 29 August and I'm STILL getting default notices and threats of court action! Your OR must be a bit quicker off the mark than mine! Still I'm doing my bit for the environment 'cos I chuck all the letters in the recyling bin!!!!

I can beat that - I was in an IVA for 4 months and I've been BR for nearly 6 and the fools that are Tesco Finance have decided to issue another default notice!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.
