I have a lot of debts in my name (approx 38k) and I am considering an IVA. I have recently moved in with my boyfirend and want to check that he will not be included in consideration of my IVA, these debts are after all mine and all repayments need to come from my income alone.

Hi nataliea and welcome to the forum

Your boyfriend will need to declare his income, so that you can both demonstrate that you are paying a fair share towards household bills. Apart from this, there should be no other reason for him to be involved in your IVA.

Welcome to the forum naliea,

You will likely be committing to a joint income and expenditure budget but he wont be included in your IVA.

Hi Nataliea,

As the debts are soley in your name, your boyfriend will not be affected in anyway. However in saying this a joint income and expenditure will need to be provided as the creditors would want to see that you are both paying your respective shares of the bills etc.
