Hi All, this is my first post, but I think it's a good one. I was looking into the IVA option and was referred to a company. I was questioned by a young girl, she must have been 18 if a day, after about 5 mins of quick questions about my budget she informed I would qualify for an IVA. I needed to send £500 to them and stop paying all creditors immediately. I asked is this good advice as there was no proof that I would be accepted for IVA. She informed i would be guaranteed to be accepted, this was based on the figs i gave her,and info on creditors, which are true.THIS ADVICE WILL CAUSE EVEN MORE STRESS, AND ON TOP OF THAT, ADVISING ME TO STOP PAYING CREDITORS SO THEY WOULD RECEIVE THEIR FEE IS OUTRAGEOUS!!
The point of this is; DO YOUR RESEARCH, THERE ARE SHARKS OUT THERE!!! THEY WILL GIVE YOU BAD ADVICE.EDWARDO 3105

Hi edwardo and welcome to the forum.
I do agree that you should do your research before deciding which company to go with.
Someone from a call centre cannot say that you are guaranteed acceptance.
I would always advise calling one or two companies before making a decision. Either click on the experts link on the left hand side of the page or visit
www.iva.com.

IF this is true (and I have no reason to doubt otherwise, although i haven't checked anything online), wouldn't you say that there is defintely a training issue if your staff are offering guarantees of acceptance?

Hi
I am not convinced that the original poster is genuine, looking at the email address, so have removed the company concerned.
Although this is an open forum we need to be balanced and make sure that posts such as above are at least genuine
