Hi all
Don't know if I am behind the times, but have just discovered this website, and wanted to pass the info on. If like us you have a set price per month on your phone account which includes all uk landline numbers, its well worth a look
www.saynoto0870.com It will give you an alternative (landline ) number to use instead of the costly "0870" or "0845" numbers for all utility companies and many others including the tax office. It saved me about £14.00 in one month recently - not a fantastic amount I know but hey, when inan IVA every penny counts

I *ALWAYS* use this website before dialing any 0845/0870/0871 number.
An example, for Cashplus rather than dialing their 0871 (10p/min) customer service number, I used 02071005907, and was put straight through to an operator. I was told I needed customer services, but was routed straight there all for the 0207 landline charge (which with 24/7 free landline calls) was free to me! I was on for 10 minutes, which would have cost me £1.00, but I had it free!
An excellent website in my opinion!

Its a brilliant site, and I seem to be getting through to the other person a lot quicker than using their 0870 numbers

It's a great site, I use it all the time. Okay, sometimes there is no alternative number but it does save money in the long run, especially if you are on BT Option 3!

I'm on vonage and my internet is with Virgin Media, unlimited 01 02 and 03 calls for £5.99 a month and no BT / Virgin line rental to pay as it is VOIP over the internet connection

We've got Sky and we pay £5 a month for free calls to all geographic numbers. We've also got their broadband for £5 a month which saves us a fortune compared to when we were with BT.

I have Bt total broadband with broadband talk on Option 3. I pay £4.95 for free calls to geographic numbers and my monthly direct debit to BT has not changed at all. I saved £34.99 a month once I stopped having AOL.
