I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but Freecycle is an amazing resource.
Only this week I am now the proud owner of a wardrobe and pushchair - all for free. OK, they are used, second hand but they do a good job.
Google freecycle and the area you live in to find out more!

Oh, you do have to offer something up first - but I'm sure we all have stuff we don't need that is cluttering the house up.

I tried registering for Freecycle but it wasn't straighforward - I had to set up a different email address and join a group, and I couldn't be bothered so I gave up!

Oh yes, most stuff goes on eBay, but if doesn't sell there or at a carboot then I Freecycle it. eBay selling fees are getting more and more expensive these days.
Fact is I have got two items I really needed and couldn't really afford for FREE - so it can't be bad.

What I sell on Ebay tends to me old clothes as they are all now far too big for me. I put them on at start price of 99p and it costs nothing and I get a free piccie as well!

If I can't sell on there, it goes to the charity shop.

Same here. My main problem with selling in the small ads or doing something like Freecycle is having to be there when people want to look or collect. I've only ever sold a car privately once and it was a nightmare waiting for people to turn up, and wasting time when they didn't.

Also, as you have to offer something first I'd be looking at it thinking I could have made money on that, and knowing my luck I wouldn't get what I wanted when I was looking!

Despite being an early enthusiast I got fed up of Freecycle (and that "book crossing" thing you get in pubs), luckily I have a charity shop in the next street.

Oh...I'll keep my stupid ideas to myself next time. Only trying to help others. Sorry.

I must admit that I use the local charity shops and Ebay both for getting rid of stuff and buying stuff.

I wouldn't have anything to offer in return as my stuff is well past it when it's finished.

Must be DM! All my clothes come off Ebay and I do sell clothes on there, but only because they are way too big for me now.

We dont do anything, just keep all the clutter & junk because someone says we might need it one day. I want to do car boot![:)]

You should see our garage and the spare bedroom wonder! Full of stuff, but we are both as bad as one another for hoarding stuff.

Never been interested in car boot sales myself.
