Hi, we recently moved abroad (Cyprus)where we last Octtober took out IVA's on our personal debt. since then we have relised that finding work here is difficult, therfore funds where short, we contacted out Supervisor & asked for information on Bancruptcy, we would like to know what will happen as we live abroad, with regards to "will we get a visit from Balifs or debt collectors?"
What are they looking for? It's all very daunting for us especially being in a foreign country.
many thanks fpr your assistance

Hi GB and welcome to the forum

As you have lived in Cyprus for the last six months, you will not be able to apply for UK based bankruptcy unless you have retained a permanent address in the UK.

I find it rather strange that you were advised to enter into an IVA if you knew you were leaving for a foreign country with no jobs? Can you explain why this was advised?
