We are in a 5 year IVA and we live in rented accommodation. We are looking to move but all of the local letting agents say that they require personal and credit references. Will they find out about our IVA and, if so, will could they refuse our our application?

They will find out about the IVA if they credit check your application.

Best thing is to be honest and open about it - they may ask you for some further details etc.

Hi
As Storm states it is best to be upfront, you may be pleasantly surprised as to how accomodating they will be.A good reference from your current landlord will be worth it,s weight in gold.
