I think this forum is great but sometimes has too much negativity for me. I’m not sure if I’ll post again but a sense of humour always helped me through and all the best. HUGS

That's a shame Oscar, I don't think we are all negative on here, I find this a very positive place to be really considering the stress we have all at one time or other felt, all opinions on here are just that, opinions, some negative, some positive, no one is right or wrong and everyone deserves a chance to have their say in a friendly way. It's a shame if you decide not to come back, take care

Wow Oscar, that's a pretty strong statement [:)] but if that's how you feel then hey that's fine. I tend to think an even balance of positive and negative thoughts on a forum such as this would be hard to achieve considering the true nature of the site, i.e. debt problems are a negative situation to be in. Personally I think the relatively small positives seem to outweigh the many negatives. Some people may feel that airing their negative concerns to recieve positive responses may help them along the way.
I hope this doesn't come across as a critisism of your views as that is not the intention neither do I wish to appear as some sort of psycologist, believe me I aint.
I reckon you will keep visiting the forum. x

Oscar - I hope you reconsider. I sometimes get wound up by some comments but have to remember that different people have different perspectives on life and we should be open to all views on here. Of course if the comments are offensive or go against forum rules then they should be tackled by Andy, but in the main I cope by putting my view across and accepting we all see things differently.

As a mental health sufferer I am also aware that sometimes things can be either written or taken in the wrong context and all should be given a chance.

With the other thread, I'm afraid I see telling a creditor to bring on legal action as positive if you are in an IVA and know you are covered. I would think it would re-inforce this to a poster. I don't think you would find Jan or anyone else giving this advice to someone who did not have the security of an IVA.

Of course it is your decision as to what to do, but come back in the future if you miss us!![:)]

I certainly would not advise anyone not in an IVA to let the creditor take them to court!!!!

I'm afraid there will always be negative posts on here and some cynical ones as well. There are some posts on here that annoy me at times but I let it wash over me and if it is going to be too argumentative then I leave it alone and either lock the thread or speak to Andy about it.

Healthy debate is great and we do enjoy that on here.

I've had abuse thrown at me the past and I just laugh it off - I think you have to grow a bit of a thick skin sometimes!!!

I hope that you continue to post and blog Oscar. I personally think that the Forum provides a space where people can ask questions, receive help in return and also rant if they want to! I do believe that there is a balance and of course many people will feel negative, perhaps because they are afraid of their situation and that sometimes makes them defensive or maybe even aggressive. I have also fairly thick skinned as long as the argument is fair and not personal. I wondered what you were basing your comment on? Anyway I hope that you return and let us know how you are doing. The Forum is only possible if we have a good mix of people each with their own set of views to put across. Take Care xx
