After spending the last week crawling into work in agony, with what felt like really bad sunburn from the top of one thigh up across one side of my stomach and back, yesterday I developed a rash.

Off to the doc today who confirmed my suspicion of my first ever bout of shingles ! Luckily, although the pain is in several dermatomes (areas served by each nerve) the doc reckons the rash will confine itself to one dermatome --- unfortunately it has chosen a very sensitive one ( I'll leave you to figure that one out!).

Anyhooo -- I have decided not to carry on crawling to work this week (doc did say she'd sign me off next week if I wanted, but I don't want to take the mickey)and dose up on painkillers and my oh so tasty course of anti-virals.

Am I being a wuss and should I go to work ?
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Not the most pleasant of things to have Foggy, had a bout years ago which came out in a small circular pattern on my chest........thought I'd become Scaramanga but without The Golden Gun (007 fans know)

Lap up all the sympathy you can without being too girly about it[:D]

I'd make the most of being off work, especially in this weather..get yourself outside, the sun might help ;-)
