To day is the day I have been dreading.Smeg the cat is not gettting any better infact she is much worse. The roof of her mouth is now blood red and she cant swallow. She has not eaten for 3 days and when she drinks she is sick.I have just phoned the vet and we have to take her in this evening to have her put to sleep.I feel so sad as she is such an affectionate cat and I feel we have failed her.Still its what is best for her as at the moment she has no quality of life.Hope her sister Kelly wont miss her to much.

Oh Carole, that's so sad. You haven't failed you, you've done everything you can for her and given her a good life.

Big hugs to you and Smeg xxx

Carole, I'm so sorry to hear that. I know what it is like to lose a much loved pet.

You've not failed her at all and you are doing the right thing.

Thinking of you and sending big hugs.xxxxxxx

Carol - so sorry for you.

The only thing I can say is as a pet lover, you are absolutely doing the right thing. If you left her to suffer, I would say you would feel guilt afterwards. We know when they have had enough and tonight she will be in kitty heaven.

Stay strong luvvie.xxxxxxx

Carol - I am so sorry, how terribly sad. You are doing the right thing for her. I have had to do this so many times over the last 40 or so years and it never gets any easier. If we were able we would do the same for humans!! Thoughts are with you x

I am sorry Carole but you have made the right decision.
I had to do the same with my cat Jasper a while back and he was such a lovely cat.
Remember all the happy times and the love you gave one another.

Carole, no way have you failed her, you've done your ultimate for her and by gently easing away her pain forever you're a loving pet owner. xx

Thank you all for your loving support. She is now at peace and no doubt begging for turkey steak in kitty heaven. I held her while she passed away with my son stroking her and hubby in the background for support. We bought her home and buried her under her favourite bush in the garden.

I'm thinking of you Carole. It takes a very brave person to know when it's time to do the right thing for their pet and this is what you have done. Focus on Kelly so you don't both have too much time to feel down. Big hugs
