If you are on Sky Talk and pay the £14 odd line rental .. I have just discovered they are currently running a promotion offering a discount if you pay 12 months upfront. The amount they want for 12 month line rental upfront is £119 and a few pence. Making a saving over the year of £50-ish.

I know £119 is a lump to find in an IVA -- but £50 saving is good too.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

I'm with Sky and all we ever seem to get is this is going up and that is going up and although i'm happy with their service I am thinking of shopping around at some point.

However, that is a bargain if you have the money but why not just offer a proportionate discount to all customers x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

We were thinking of changing to Virgin but we're probably going to stay with Sky now - I really can't face the thought of they installers digging up my front garden for a start!

I'm happy to stay with Sky as the service is generally good and while they get complaints (like all companies) they don't appear to be anywhere near as bad the likes of Talk Talk.

Thanks for the tip Foggy, I may look into that.

I'm with Sky for everything and even pay the extra for unlimited calls as hubby is at home all day so it's useful for us.

I don't think I'll be paying upfront though.

Skippy don't change to virgin ! They have just rung me tonight offering me the chance to save £4 per month on the 0845 numbers we call as they are not included in our unlimited calls allowance.....that was fine, but then in the next breath I asked them to clarify the letter we received yesterday where they said the monthly rental was going up by a further £5 a month.....erhhh that to me says I am paying £1 a month more for nothing extra !

I will be moving away from Virgin as soon as the contract ends for our TIVO boxes in September next year !

The reason we thought about Virgin was the box is better than Sky and we wanted the fibre optic broadband. The main sticking point was my principles - we both used to work for them and it wasn't good!
