change the main name rould next year.
from yourself to your wife, go online as new customer and great a there best price again.
IVA now over with and it was worth it.

Amazing isn't it that in these days loyalty to a company doesn't count!

I'm with RAC so we'll see when my renewal is due what comes up!

A hint for the RAC... two years ago my payment went from £11.00 per month to £14 per month. I rang up to ask why the premium had gone up when I had made no claim in the last 18 months. We have always had joint cover for both myself and my husband. Any way we have also been with them for over 19 years. The woman I spoke to was very nice and explained that loyalty bonus are not generated automatically, and that you need to ring up at renewal time to ask for it. By the time the conversation ended, I had my renewal for £9.50 per month. I asked if I would need to ring again at the next renewal and she said yes. Well the renewal came earlier this year and it had only gone up 50p so I left well alone. If it jumps up again next year, I know what to do.

I presume that's what happened when Dave phoned up Kaykay - they reduced it last year to a lot less than a new customer would pay and this year it had only gone up by a small amount, not enough to bother phoning them.

What I prefer to do is to switch companies then get on the phone to the original one and let them know that because they didnt give me their best price 1st time round they have lost me as a customer!!!

I hate it when they go all crawly bumlick trying to keep you!!!

I don't - if they'll give me a better price I'll stay as I can't be bothered with the hassle of changing most of the time!

I think from a business perspective it doesn't make good sense to offer loyalty bonuses, it's the same with SKY, why bother reducing payments when a lot of people are very lazy and will just pay whatever they are asked to pay anyway? they are there to make as much money as possible, not do us a favour so will only start reducing prices if customers ring up to complain and threaten to go elsewhere.

That reminds me, I must get Martin to phone up Sky as our 6 months at half price has just ended so will have to see if we can get another deal out of them again

Sky are bad for that, our Sky box broke, we rang to cancel as they wanted a call out charge for someone to look at it, we told them no we'll cancel. Engineer came out with a new sky box on a sunday morning free of charge.

I've been with Sky for over 20 years now and not had a problem and I'm afraid that I do pay the going rate as I think it is worth the money.

Same here Jan. We've said we'd sell the sofa and sit on the floor before we got rid of Sky!

If I lived on my own I wouldn't even own a TV, if I really wanted to watch anything I could on my laptop but couldn't do without internet. Hubby is a TV addict. x

I'd have my TV and the internet so I could both at the same time, as I do at the moment.

I might moan there's nothing on TV but there's no way I could do without it!

What a poor girl on the end of the phone at RAC!! I checked online and got cover with the AA including home emergency cover(free for a year),for £12 odds a month for joint cover. Much cheaper, and the girl on the phone tried to beat the price,I gave her such a hard time over customer loyalty and told her that a new customer could get the cover they were offering me for cheaper online so could she explain why my price was more? She eventually beat the price and I told her that I still wanted to cancel, because I didnt like the way I had been treated, and didnt like the fact that they rely on people just auto-renewing regardless of price.

Its all about principles, and I did say to her not to worry as I would likely be back next year when the AA try to shaft me at renewal time!!
