Not that I play golf but thought it a good thread title.
30 months down, 30 months to go. It was a tough few months at the start of the IVA, I had no idea on how it was going to pan out and there was no support from the family as we chose not to tell them. The budgeting lark was alien to me normally if we wanted something we just splashed the plastic and got it. The budgeting has now taught us a damn good lesson that we will pursue after the IVA concludes. Finding the forum was a huge weight lifter, there were other people who had been as daft as us with money and moreover credit we could ill afford to pay back! The advise and support has been first class, I can even advise and support those who are new to an IVA, that is a good feeling. I now realise that the 'stuff' I want is totally different to the 'stuff' I need, the stuff I need I can save for a eventually pay for outright, the stuff I want I cut from the magazine or print out and stick it in a scrapbook. Every few weeks I take out the scrap book and try to remember what is in it. The stuff I can't remember was stuff I really didn't need and the picture gets put in the bin [:)] . I will take this opportunity to thank those who have responded to my questions, those who were going to respond but found the 'night larks' had already responded and to all those who have found it in them to give assistance and support to other forum members.
To those starting the IVA journey, all I can give you is a wish and hope that it goes as smoothly and with as few hic-cups as mine is going.
My next big hurdle is the completion, but I am with a good company (even though I have had a wine about them now and then). Hopefully the VAT and PPI complications will be but mere memories by then and my next 'big' post will be telling you all I have my CC. Until then keep up the good work, wake up each morning with a smile and remember that this is going to be the longest period of your life that your bank statement is never OD [8D][8D]
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues

Lovely post Merlin and well done for getting so far! [:D]
Being in an IVA is a shock to the system but it's a nice feeling knowing we're taking actions against our mistakes and I totally agree that it does make you realise what you want isnt actually what you need and now it's the little things that give us the most pleasure
This forum is a godsend to everyone I think..especially those who havent told family or friends it's nice to have our own little place to go and let off steam, ask for advice etc [:)] x
When you make a mistake, don't look back at it long...the past cannot be changed. It is the present and future that counts
