Hi guys,

Off sick for the next couple of days as GP has given me some meds that are used for MS sufferers. Make me feel very sick and confused. Not noticed any difference in pain though so giving it til Wed then stopping them.

4 weeks to go til Alton Towers so got to get my foot walking properly again. Wonder if they hire out those motorised scooters like in the USA that all the fat people ride round DIsney on?!!

Sorry you're feeling rough kazza. Hope the tablets start doing the job soon.

Thanks Jan - just feeling sorry for myself!! Trying to get things better as the option is having my toe fused on my foot and I can't bear the thought of another operation![:(]

I hope the tablets work soon Kazza.

I have to say I'd be using the foot as an excuse not to go to Alton Towers even if it was better by then!

Me too Skippy - I don't like theme parks at all really, because they mainly involve height which if I'm exposed (I'm OK in a glass lift/enclosed pod on a big wheel etc.) makes me nervous, and huge great swings, which make me feel ill. So I begrudge going to them when I can't make use of most of the rides!

More seriously, I hope you feel much better soon Kazzafunk xx

That's the strange thing. Once I've been on a rollercoaster I have a few days with no back ache. And I am a speed freak (although don't do spinny things like the teacups or I throw up and make a fool of myself!!).

Plasticdraft - please tell me more! I've been told that the spasms won't go away and as the operation to straighten has failed twice and is now worse than before they started messing with it the only thing to do is fuse the joint.

I have a problem in my neck and they say when it gets too bad the only option is to fuse the vertebrae --- trouble id, as it's high in the neck, if it goes wrong I could be in real strife -- so I am treating that as a totally final and last option resort .... so ... would be interested in Plasticdafts observations too.

I obviously dont know the full in's and outs of your case but make sure you fully understand how your mobility will be affected by the fusing of the bones. Many people fail to realise how the fusing will affect them. Maybe worth speaking to a physiotherapist to find out how what restrictions there will be.

The big toe is pretty important in the action of walking and balance, so ( if you'll forgive the pun) tread carefully.

Thanks guys - yeah have read that I won't be able to kneel again! Don't go to chuch so no probs!! No seriously it is a big step (no pun intended). GP has referred me back to surgeon, I turned down the offer to fuse in Feb when the 2nd failure occured but things have got far worse and the MS meds I'm on for the spasms make me feel so sick. Will go and see him and discuss then take a few months to consider. Reason the op failed is due to my walking gait - from my back problem and so it's prob my back that is making things worse. If only I hadn't started this. All I had was a painful bunion!! I wish I could have him back and get rid of the rest of the s**t!!![:(]

No high heels ever again!!!

And many folk do have the attitude of wishing they just kept the painful bunion!!! The grass isnt always greener, and some surgical interventions dont have the positive outcome thats expected!
