As I've won absolutely nothing on the lottery for years now and my parents don't own a house and have only their pension coming in this is never going to affect me!!!!!

I've won a tenner quite often [:D]

I'm also an only child so this might affect me and I have made my mum aware of the situation and although she'd rather any money come to me, she understands, fingers crossed it won't come to that though.

I'm an only child and I'm just thankful my parents have prepaid their funerals! As they are both well into their eighties the chances are they won't be around by the end of the IVA (I hope they are though!) - at least I won't be faced with the worry of paying for it as they have no money at all!

I am one of two, dad has several small policies going that will pay for his send off, so no worries there. I could get add to leave the lot to my sibling and hope I got my share later ... but if I wasn't in an IVA my share would have paid off my debt anyway ( and still have a bit left over), so I will leave matters as they are and hope he survives my IVA ( hope I do too !!! ).

My dad presented my mum with their funeral service paperwork several years ago after an insurance policy matured - he hadn't told her what he was going to do so she nearly died on the spot when he showed it to her!!

I have my dad's funeral music all cued up on a CD already! He would have a fit if he heard it. He used to be of the opinion that making a will was tantamount to signing a death certificate, so hearing his service would just about top it off !!!!

(I might add the reason I have this all ready is that he is a WWII veteran and I want the Last Post played. Getting a bugler at short notice isn't easy, so I thought I would cheat. I got one of our local radio presenters to read "For the Fallen" :

(They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them. )

While the bugle plays quietly in the background, then as the poem ends it goes into a full blast Last Post. The Station very kindly gave me the studio time ( and the presenter)).

I actually haven't a clue what my parents have chosen - it is in with the rest of their documents so I shall wait until the day it happens. They don't have a will - they are of the impression that as they have relatively little money they don't need one. I've tried telling them that it will make life easier for me to sort things out but that doesn't seem to matter.

Just glad I don't have a house to sort out - only have to empty it before the council takes over.

Aw Foggy how lovely! Although I'm sure your Dad wouldn't agree ;o)

My Dad had several policies which covered his funeral, I'm sure my mum does too and if not she's so blumming good with money that I bet it's squirreled away somewhere. I will inherit the house but it's only a little place up North so not exactly a huge amount but will certainly help out a lot! I do hope my mum lasts long after my IVA though, she survived cancer last year and has rallied beautifully, I'm sure she's got a good few years ahead of her!!

My mum is 87 and dad 83 and they're a bit shaky on the old pins and dad has circulation problems but I'm thankful they're still in full control of their faculties. Mum has one brother still going who is well into his nineties so I hope she lasts that long. Dad still has twin sisters and one brother who are still going.

Hope I last that long!!

My dad is in his mid 80's and his dad lasted until 92 ( and in the end pnuemoconiosis ... no idea how to spell that ! ... got him ... Miner's lung). So, hopefully dad will see out the IVA. I still reckon he will see me out !!!! Maybe I should put that CD in MY will !

My mum is 80 and isn't doing too badly although she's not very good on her legs.

She was trying to sort out her funeral music the other day but got really upset as she wouldn't be there to here it! So far she's decided on 'The Rose' but doesn't want to think about it any more.

She's got a will, but doesn't know if it's still valid as she doesn't like looking at it!
