Good Morning. One question what banks or financial institutions are connected to Lloyds TSB.As I have an account with them and I have had some mail from Lloyds about airmiles and their duo account which one of the cards is a credit card with the american express logo on it. I am not taking the offer up but american express is one of my creditors and I am worried about my money in the account. If they are in the same basket together. Any Info would be appreciated.

Good morning phil,to the best of my knowledge Lloyds is a part of Northern Rock and Blackhorse Lenders. American express is a credit card but a different type from the ones offered through a bank, i.e, visa and mastercard.

Maybe recently, Lloyds and American Express may have merged to do an airmiles scheme. I do not know.

Here is a link that describes all the credit cards maybe there is an answer there. http://www.uswitch.com.

I'll google again and see what I can find. Keep checking back here to read other's posters replies. One of them may be certain of any affiliation.

Hope this helped.

Thanks for that Debtdummy,By the looks of it they are seperate institutions but interlinking with airmiles to get more custom.
Again really appreciated.

Phil,

LloydsTSB do offer an affiliated card with American Express but they are completely seperate organisations.

This is quite common with Banks - they will team up with other brands every now and again.

Another example is Sainsbury Bank cards who are in fact Bank of Scotland.

It's often difficult to know who the ultimate provider is unless you read the smallprint of those olvely terms and conditions documents they send out with cards which of course everyone does!!
