I wanted to go to our wedding in an Aston next year but it's not going to happen - a) we can't afford it and b) I don't know if I'd fit in it in my dress!

Great post, I would vote for that! I am over 50 and not looking forward to working until I am 66. When I started work I was expecting to retire at 60 with my hubby who is 5 years older than me. Now he will be in his 70's when I retire.

I now dont have to do a IVA,
can buy a MG6 well its put together over here.
all for being over 50.

But if all over 50 bus driver stop work you would be short of drivers. but then we are after 3 year with no overtime company crying out for us to work rest days.

Dear Sir
I would like to put my name down for the Patriotic Retirement Plan. Whilst it is true I am already retired, I would willingly forgo the £1million as long as I could still have the warm place to live, hot food and someone to check on me every now and again, free dental treatment and my hobbies paid for. I did afterall pay into the system for 47 years without a break.....I am also particularly interested in the allowances for alcohol and cigarettes, whilst I don't drink perhaps my cigarette allowance could be doubled??
