Everything that is wrong with the UK today. Why is she getting JSA if she's openly admitting she's not looking for work as well as the classic "I'll simply do a Kerry Katona and go bankrupt. " comment.

I would look at the story but dont want to add any traffic to their website.

Benefit reforms have made little difference.

Time to get tough.

Same here PD! Stories like that make me so cross - in a way I hope she does have to go BR so she can see it's not as easy as she thinks it is.

Too many people think that going bancrupt means they won't have to pay & they say good bye to their debts. Well if the person in the article does - she's in for a huge shock! I'm sure I read that Kerry (not a fan - can't stand the women!) fees for a particular show went towards her debts, so she is still paying.

I see people like this every day unfortunately & especially at my little boys old school. It's not just the benefits they get but they get free school meals, school trips etc n I can barely afford them. My son was asked to go on a 3 day trip for £145 but yet those on benefits only had to pay £20.

One thing I can say is, giving them everything they want at that age is setting herself up for trouble. Wish I could treat myself on my birthday never mind Christmas.
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

How irresponsible, great way to bring up her children giving them all that without showing them you need to work to earn the money first!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

She lives in the SW as well!! Nightmare - she'll be bringing up very spoilt kids and they will expect more and more each year as will the payday loan companies that will lend her what she wants no doubt!

As sad and irresponsible as that woman is, reading her story has given me a warm feeling, smug that I have taken control of my finances, a knowing that I will have no extra debt come 2012. But also despair that there is going to be thousands more people who are going to have the stress of financial meltdown come the new year as they HAVE to turn to the payday loan companies because they can not get loans from the banks. My daughter was round at ours this morning in floods of tears because her partner has just been put on 1/4 hours due to the company he works for not having the clout to compete. She was inconsolable for 5 to 10 mins, but has no intention of going down the route that selfish woman has chosen! I just wish I was in a position to help my daughter financially.

I would imagine by now she will be being investigated and benefits stopped !How silly to go live in national press - serves her right !

Thankfully for the innocent children her benefits wont get stopped as they are ultimately the one's that will suffer. She may well be investigated, however she is not claiming anything that she isn't 'entitled' to and other than having an interview with the Job Center I fear no action will be taken to educate her on her stupidity.

I suppose it depends if she has been paid for the interview. If not, she hasn't done anything that other claimants do.
