Second problem of the week and by far the most important. OH went to Doctors today as he hasn't been feeling 100% - short of breath, stressed and racing heartbeat. Anyway he had the usual ECG etc and has been referred to the Cardiac Dept for a thorough going over. Can't help feeling that this is all down to the shock that I gave him earlier this year when I owned up to the massive debt. Feeling very worried and angry with myself. (In the meantime they have prescribed the spray under the tongue incase he has an attack) x[|)]

Don't beat yourself up, it's not your fault. Sounds as though be has been having this come on for a while. Could be angina, especially with him being given the spray. My hubby suffers, from it quite badlyand he's still going! I'm sure the cardiac department will sort him out

Thanks Jan. They did mention the possibility of Angina so will just have to wait and see but he has always been so fit (only 46) and agile, plays rugby in the garden with the kids and all sorts. x

My hubby had his first heart attack at 32, it's one of those things that creep up on you without you realizing it. I'm sure he will be just fine with the right medication.

As Jan says, probably nothing to do with the shock you gave him! In fact he's probably relieved you owned up and have done something positive.

With regards to heart problems, anyone can get them fit or not. I am a smoker, slightly overweight and very immobile but my ECG's have always been perfect. No point in worrying too much until he has seen the specialist as it may be something simple. Just don't creep up behind him and make him jump! (Joke - hope you don't mind).

Let us know how he gets on - and give him loads of TLC!!

To be honest, yes, health and lifestyle factors do increase the risk of cardiac problems, however, I am of the opinion that if it is going to go ... it will go! Look at all the top sportsmen that succumb with no warning.
Your debt problems are unlikley to have set them off, but the stresses that could have ensued had you not had the courage to face up to the problem and sort it out might have done in the future. The IVA can sometimes be a PITA, but it certainly relieves a lot of pressure and gives you a positive goal to work towards.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I'm sure his health is nothing to do with you owning up to your debt problems. I hope your hubby is sorted soon. x

Gtn sprays work well and it may well be a temporary thing. Better it gets noticed and investigated now as if left could have caused bigger problems!

I am with kazza on the no sneaking up behind him popping balloons etc!

Hi footiemad

Your OH loves you he's with you in the IVA it's not your fault. It's a worrying time. My OH had similar symptoms last week I was especially worried because he's usually very fit we walk miles with the dogs however he had Asthma as a child and he thinks it may be coming back. He also had pneumonia some time ago when a lung collapsed so this also makes added worry for me incase it's connected.

Turns out he had a chest infection, but hes been given a spray incase he gets breathlessness and sent for x rays. At the same time he had a tooth infection the tooth has since been able to be removed the infection is now gone, nd he is feeling a lot better and doesn't need the spray, so he says.

It is worrying it's your other half, but keep supporting each other and I hope your OH gets some good news and feels much better very soon . Hugs
Oscar

My OH made me go to Doctors on Friday morning, had strange sponginess in my calf exactly like memory foam matress, she took blood clot test and said results would be in Monday, we were in Sainsburies that afternoon, had a call from the surgery to immediatly go to A&E, normal would be 500 but result was 3000, what a shock that was, had my spray with me, arrived was taken straight through and coagulated like my pulmonary embolism 2 years before with tinsaparin injections, Saturday night i had a scan and got the results NO CLOTS,
I was so happy but wanted to know what the cause was, last Monday i had an infected tooth removed because i was having an angiogram on Monday the dentist didn't give me anti-biotics as i would have the angiogram put back, instead gave me more anaesthetic, the in jections did the trick the trick this morning the swelling had gone down and the sponginess had gone so consultant said i could come home.

Regards David.

P.S. Footiemad your OH will be fine he is on the right treatment, these things can be a shock but he really will be ok, all the best for his future. David
