I used to live in a flat on a main road, no park nearby and we had a dog and hubby's kids used to stop with us and it was fine. We used to take the dog and the kids to the local beauty spot.

Thanks for all your comments, I'm sure we can make it work and more importantly make it home [:D] x

I live in a flat with no garden, just up the road from a play area. I brought up my daughters as a single parent here and now my young son.

He gets lots of exercise at school and with footy practice on saturdays, other than that we pop to the park for a picnic at the weekends and sometimes on the way back from school.

The thing I like about no garden is that I don't have grass to mow and weeds to pull all the time :-) Someone else does that in the park !!!!

I'm not a keen gardener as such but I do love having a large garden and my own outdoor space and if I had a choice I wouldn't choose a property with no garden, however, as we know life isn't always as easy as that and at the end of the day, a roof over our heads, even if that were a caravan would be all that mattered.

I like pots and planters but don't have a garden as such. not sure I want one now and certainly don't want to spend 1.5 hours a week cutting grass as my son in law has to!

yeah it takes me about an hour to do mine which is more than enough, I think as we get older we will probably landscape it more so there is less grass to cut! but for the moment while the kids are young having a huge lawn serves its purpose

We now have artificial grass at the back (we call it 'the carpet') and it's brilliant. Be great for kids.

Daughter never actually played much outside. She was allowed at the front of the house but only with adult supervision, even though we live in a cul de sac.

Thanks Dunky, thats what I'm thinking. I'm sure if we make it home he'll be happy no matter where it is or whether there's a garden. Plus, its an excuse to go to my parents for a BBQ in the summer! (obviously not on days like today...boooooooo) x

I totally agree the home is what you make it and there are so many activities to do indoors anyway, long as you're both happy that's the main point. x
