It's all the personal injury claims that are bumping the premiums up - mine was much, much cheaper years ago.
Completion Certificate received September 2012.

It's about time they put a stop to them as a lot are false claims of whiplash which you can never prove or disprove.

There meant to be changing the criteria Jan for whiplash claims, car has to be going a certain speed, hit at the correct angle etc at present anyone can say it and they get a payout! I was talking to a friend who works in insurance and each year there is a 300% increase in claims, mainly for personal injury and many of them have beena very simple bump where someone has revered into them in a car park at low speed but somehow their head has fell off and they need at least 2K to have it sown back on!!
IVA completion and certificate received 08/10/2012!!!

I think it's disgusting. My parents were involved in a serious accident a good few years ago with an elderly driver who fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into them causing my parents some substantial injuries. Mum and Dad claimed and had a fight to get some compensation.

I don't mind if the compensation is justified but there are so many people who take the P out there.

I agree, I would never claim without just cause, I don't even claim on home insurance when I'm sure I could have done for certain things but that's jut me x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I have claimed on home insurance and always would do if it's justified. One laptop (dropped on the floor), one Ipod (daughter who fell over on the ice) and one engagement ring (lost after a 'do' at home and never found) in the last three years.

I'd never make a false claim but if I have lost/damaged stuff then I will claim to replace it.

I don't think you can quantify angles of collision and speed to result in whiplash.

Quite a few years ago I was rear ended (in my car I might add)at quite a high speed (typical whiplash conditions) and suffered no injury at all. Yet later, a low speed bump from the side (totally atypical) did cause quite a bit of pain from a whiplash.

I don't dispute that some injury claims are justified but then I think back to the 60/70/80's and part of the 90's when this would never have been heard of at all.

I love America but this all stems from them and their (often stupid) claims.
