One of them days today, just so dam fed up of our debts.... Been paying debts off for 8 years, first 5 years with dmp and now from last year iva... Just so fed up of them...

Doesn't help that debts partner started were from paying his x wife money for his children, when he didn't have the funds (took cash out by credit card), then i got a loan to help sort the debts and ended up inheriting most of his debts [:(]

We're still together but somedays i just wonder why we bother trying to pay our debts off and instead just go bankrupt....Ok,we had the money i admit that but 8 years of paying debts off I'm rather getting fed up of them now... another 4 years 3 months togo before we're be finally free and will are credit rating be any better for paying the debts off with an iva instead of going bankrupt?
Full & Final Accepted 22nd May 2012 :)

Hi Claire.

If you went bankrupt then your credit rating would be shot for a further six years and you would probably end up with an IPA for three years so you wouldn't be much better off. By the time you have saved the BR fees (which would be £1400 for the two of you) a few more months would have passed.

I know it's hard but just keep going, you'll get there. I was on a DMP originally and if we'd have done an IVA in the first place we'd have finished in October this year, instead we've got another 18 months to go (including the extra 12 months for equity release) so I do know how you feel.

it can be a long haul, but at least there is light at the end of the tunnel, it may not be bright at the minute but will get brighter month by month. Hang in there. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi Claire, I know the feeling. I have been paying my debts for over 20 years, it has only been the last 4 years that I have accepted that I could not continue on the road I had taken and admitted that I needed serious help. I wish I had done this long, long ago. My health and outlook have never been so good and positive, even if my IVA heads down the 6 year route I will be more than happy with the outcome. Being able to 'share' on this forum has helped as well. I thought it was just me in debt to the level I allowed it to get!
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues
