Don't Google "Car Lease" look for long car rentals

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, couple of years into my IVA, actually, no, I'm exactly half way through this month, hurrah ...

Just moved from self employment in to secure employment and offered a car allowance as part of the offer, more hurrah ...

Contacted my IVA peeps, (Langley London)and asked for permission to get a car, they agreed, as the role will enable me to keep regular payments and maintain my IVA, which they granted, hurrah ..

Contacted all of the companies listed on this site to try and get a car, but because of my history, self employed and IVA, they ALL said no to a private lease, boo ...

Changed tact, and googled "long term car rentals" and found lots of companies that will rent you a car for up to 12 months without credit searching, hurrah ...

I was honest with them all, and they all agreed to let me have a car, without the usual 3 month deposit that leasing entails.

I have today secured a New Nissan Note 1.4, and it's costing me £280 per month, keeping it for 6 months, then I'll get something else.

Not sure if I can tell you who, depends on site rules, but I'll happily share the details with anybody that asks.

They are part of a group of companies, all specialising in cars in some manner.

Im assured that by renting for a 6 month period, I'm showing them that I can keep up regaular payments, so, if I choose to later I should be able to switch to a lease arrangement, meaning a slightly better car, for a lot less money!
All arranged in under two days, and one of the biggest factors was not having to raise the 3 month deposit everybody else insisted on.

I mean, how can you raise a grand when you're in an IVA?

Matt - it shuldn't matter where you're based. You view the car online and can either go collect yourself or pay for delivery.

Paperwork can be emailed or posted etc.

Thats how it worked for us - we used a company in Sussex and live in Wales.
