Just wanted to share my good news - I'm going to do a degree.....only just found out I've been accepted and do realise it's a lot of hard work etc., as well as working as well as the forum ....but it's something I wanted to do for a while and got nominated this year and found out today I'm a student!

It's run through our own College (where I work) and Huddersfield University on a part-time basis. I don't pay one penny towards it, it all comes from the staff development fund, yes I'll be 51 when it completes but I'll have done it!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

My wife was always classed as thick at school. She attended college for a year then went on to uni to study mental health nursing. It was only at college they discovered she has dyslexia. If they had found it when she was at school then maybe she wouldnt have wasted 10 years bumming around crappy jobs, thinking that was all she was good for.

Cleverest in the house by miles now she is,I am down just below the dog in the intellect scaling!

Being teetotal Leslie, you should have plenty of brain cells to get you through [:)]

Lesley - congrats on getting a place - yes it is hard work but your only a youngster !!!
Just started another BA(hons) a few weeks ago myself (specialist public health) and i am paying for it myself - two year part time.

Dont expect a social life - and importantly make sure you whole family support you. Congrats again !!!!

Good answer Leslie, if I had a pen there'd be a big tick on the screen [:D]
