Sat in the canteen at work, bit of lunch looked over at where my car was, a couple of colleagues parked ethier side of mine.

The store i work in is one of the new designs that tesco use, store up in the air, half the carpark under the store, and the rest is at the back of the shop only overlooked by the staff canteen 3 floors up.

I spotted a megane parked at the end of the row, which was odd as normally just staff park in that corner as the shop isn't busy so we can keep an eye on our vehicles when having a break. Next thing i see is 2 males trying the locks on a fiesta next to mine, i know thats the grocery mgrs car, so quickly call security, grab a couple of lads go bounding down the stairs and out in the car park, just as they drive off. Quickly spot the fiesta has the front-end missing, and luckily for us the traffic the lights on red, running full pelt get to the megane, hands on the bonnet, hand signal for him to get out, as one of our guards try the doors which are locked, megane reverses backwards nearly taking out one of our managers, then drives full speed at me, i duck out the way, turn with my phone and snap pictures of the reg, and them going the wrong side of the road and going through red lights.

A bit shaken we all head back to the car, the bumpers gone, plates gone, fog lights gone, not sure how much more they would of taken if we hadn't got there quicker, approx cost of damage is about £800, we called the police gave them all details, including expressing our views on dangerous driving. This happened at 1pm, police turned up at 6pm just as i was leaving.

I know a bit daft going out, but guess at work sometimes you just react, no news on if they caught them, but we do know there reg was legit, so figures crossed!!

Moral, be aware of where you park your car, oh and don't go chasing them, its not worth it.

My friend took her dogs for a walk and lock the car. While she was away walking the dogs some one swopped the wheels on her car for 4 without any tread on the tyres.Police said they probably would never find out who had done it even though she was the third person in the area to have this done in the last two weeks.

I hope they catch them i really do, nothing annoys me more than car theft, we pay upwards of 10k on a car, but its never secure its the one thing we leave in carparks and on the street outside the house etc.. i mean we don't leave 10k in cash in a carpark, yet we leave our cars! although the cash would disappear as quick as the value of the car, probably quicker lol!

Got a call this morning, need to pop to the local cop shop and give a statement, oh i do enjoy those, i still have vivid memories of standing up in court in birmingham giving evidence, the result is worth while, but the whole day is so nerve racking!! worse than when i started my iva process [:)]

Honestly the lengths some people go to, why not just get a job and pay your way and live happily ever after, but oh no...that would be far too simple!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I remember an interview on TV, decades ago, with Terry Wogan interviewing a Saudi prince. The subject of crime and punishment came up and Wogan mentioned cutting a hand off of thieves, asking the Prince what they do if they steal again. The prince simply replied "cut off the other hand". Terry reckoned this was a bit harsh, but the prince just said "We don't get many repeat offenders" !!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
